This web service provides access to strain rates calculated by the GNSS Group of the GNSS Project.
Strain rates are derived from GNSS-based velocity fields. In solid Earth sciences, strain rates describe crustal deformation — that is, spatial variations in ground motion over time — computed from differences in position changes recorded by a network of GNSS stations.
The downloaded file includes:
Strain tensor parameters
Principal strain axes
Rotation rates
Dilatation
Additional derived deformation parameters
