GNSS Metadata Management and Distribution System (M3G)

On May 30th until June 1st, 2018, EPOS TCS GNSS Data and Products participated to the EUREF 2018 Symposium, which was hosted in Amsterdam, Netherlands. GNSS Metadata Management and Distribution System (M3G) was a poster by A. Fabian, C. Bruyninx, J. Legrand presenting the new metadata management and distribution system for multiple GNSS networks that is used in EPOS and to which the EPN is presently migrating.

EPN Multi-year Position/Velocity Solution

On May 30th until June 1st, 2018, EPOS TCS GNSS Data and Products participated to the EUREF 2018 Symposium, which was hosted in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Juliette Legrand presented the new EPN multi-year position and velocity solution expressed in the IGS14, which will also be provided as a EUREF product to EPOS. She explained how the product was generated and how its quality is verified.

ROB’s GNSS Contribution to EPOS

On May 30th until June 1st, 2018, EPOS TCS GNSS Data and Products participated to the EUREF 2018 Symposium, which was hosted in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The goal of ROB’s GNSS Contribution to EPOS (by C. Bruyninx, A. Fabian, J. Legrand, E. Pottiaux, F. Roosbeek) presentation was to give an overview of how the Royal Observatory of Belgium (ROB) is presently involved in EPOS IP, how its plans to contribute to the operational phase of EPOS, and how these activities are linked with ROBs present EUREF activities. “We aim to demonstrate how ROB is heavily involved in the development of EPOS and plans to play an active role in EPOS once the infrastructure will be operational”, said Carine Bruyninx.

Multi-GNSS Capability of the EUREF Permanent Tracking Network

On May 30th until June 1st, 2018, EPOS TCS GNSS Data and Products participated to the EUREF 2018 Symposium, which was hosted in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The oral presentation Multi-GNSS Capability of the EUREF Permanent Tracking Network (by C. Bruyninx, J. Legrand, A. Fabian, F. Roosbeek) showed that there are 324 stations in the EUREF Permanent Network (EPN), highlighting that 39 stations were added last year and that, since last symposium, five new stations were included. This report also presented the stations presently proposed to the EPN and why they are not included in the EPN yet. About the multi-GNSS tracking network, based on RINEX data, 7% track GPS-only, 40% track GPS+GLO and 53% track (at least) GPS+GLO+GAL.

EPOS TCS GNSS Thematic Core Service @ European Plate Observing System

On May 30th until June 1st, 2018, EPOS TCS GNSS Data and Products participated to the EUREF 2018 Symposium, which was hosted in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Therefore, to disseminate this Thematic Core Service, Rui Fernandes, coordinator for EPOS TCS GNSS Data and Products, had been chosen as a representative to speak about EPOS at EUREF Symposium. To leverage EPOS awareness, he started by reminding the audience that “EPOS is a long-term project for the integration of research infrastructures for Solid Science in Europe. Therefore, one of the three priority projects of European Commission within ESFRI”.

Management and dissemination of GNSS site log metadata using the new GeodesyML

On October 25th and 26th, 2017, EPOS GNSS Data and Products was one of the themes at Minutes of the EUREF AC Workshop, in Brussels. At the workshop open session, by the presentation entitled Management and dissemination of GNSS site log metadata using the new GeodesyML standard, Andras Fabian from EPOS GNSS Data and Products (and from Royal Observatory of Belgium) gave an update on the new GNSS metadata system developed for EPOS.

According to Fabian, “this new system will be used within EUREF and EPOS to manage GNSS
station metadata”.

Tutorial on “G-Nut/Anubis”

On October 25th and 26th, 2017, EPOS GNSS Data and Products was one of the themes at Minutes of the EUREF AC Workshop, in Brussels. At the tutorial session, Jan Dousa, from EPOS GNSS Data and Products, had offered the tutorial on G-Nut/Anubis, beginning with an explanation about motivation for GNSS data quality control, approaching the goals of quality control and the process of data quality control.

“The motto is that scientific data collection is an irreversible process that needs to be controlled
and observed data properly qualified and quantified”, as Jan Dousa had stated from the
beginning of the speech.
